Muscle Creek Creative – A Friendship Turned Creative
Today, I'm excited to share a little slice of our journey with you. I'm Sarah English, one half of the team behind Muscle Creek Creative, and I'm here to give you a peek behind the scenes.
A Serendipitous Encounter
Our story begins in the heart of Muswellbrook, where my family and I had recently moved, coming from Newcastle originally. My kids and I quickly found our rhythm at the local school, where I had the pleasure of meeting Alyssa Mahony, a kindred spirit with an eye for beautiful things.
Not long after we connected at school, fate had us cross paths again in a most unexpected way. You see, Alyssa had been a fixture in the neighbourhood for a fair few years, while I was the newcomer on the block. But as luck would have it, when my family decided to put down roots in Muswellbrook, we found a home right across the street from Alyssa's—a delightful twist of fate that would change the course of our lives.
The Birth of a Creative Partnership
Both of our home back onto Muscle Creek, hence the name, and is where Alyssa and I forged a friendship rooted in our shared love for all things handmade, beautiful and sustainable. As they got to know each other better, Alyssa remained modest about her creative endeavours, keeping her talents somewhat hidden. However, when I finally had the opportunity to see Alyssa's handmade products for herself, I was blown away.
Alyssa's talent and craftsmanship spoke volumes, however, I felt she wasn't yet reaching her full potential. As a graphic designer and marketer, I saw an opportunity to help bring her creations to a wider audience. Together, we embarked on a journey to build Muscle Creek Creative, building on the brands Alyssa had already started , particularly her ChalkedUp furniture paint and her Muscle Creek Candle Co wax products. Infusing each step with the same creative spirit and genuine passion that brought us together in the first place.
